EVIS
Background
Electric Vehicle market is gaining momentum globally. The total number of electric cars has reached three million units globally. Around one million new electric cars were sold globally in 2017 alone, representing growth of 54% as compared with 2016.
The Government of India (GoI) launched the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP) 2020 in 2013. The roadmap had an ambitious target to achieve 6 – 7 million sales of hybrid and electric vehicles year on year from 2020 onwards. While we are nowhere close to the target, the developments in last few months has elevated to firm policy decisions and investment commitments.
Though there has been growth in the EV ecosystem in cities, however city level information on EV adoption scenario, EV development strategies, EV landscape is not easily available and accessible that would be beneficial for different EV stakeholders to become better at what they do. Thus EVIS portal would give a detailed view of city level EV developments and propositions for top cities in India and globally.
